Under the backdrop of the Paris Agreement, nations worldwide have been releasing their respective roadmaps for carbon neutrality. For example, China has set forth a goal to reach peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. In the Paris Agreement, carbon emissions should be reduced by 45% by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), 75% of greenhouse gas emissions in recent years come from the energy sector, making it crucial to control carbon emissions in this industry. We will further discuss the significant role of nuclear power in the path to carbon neutrality.
